Chinese Medicine
Traditional Chinese Medicine understands the body as a whole. Its classical framework — meridian theory, the circulation of qi, and the equilibrium of yin and yang — approaches health as a matter of balance rather than isolated parts.
At Taiji Circle these principles inform a gentle, wellbeing-led approach. The practices below are offered to support relaxation, promote balance and improve body awareness.
The practice is led by Shifu Liu, who has practised Traditional Chinese Medicine for over thirty years and treats patients at his north London practice. He is a member of the Federation of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners (FTCMP UK) and serves as Director of External Relations on the council of the British Association of Chinese Medicine Practitioners.
The modalities
Tui Na
Tui Na is a hands-on practice of guided pressure and meridian-based movement. It is offered to help ease everyday tension, encourage circulation and support a relaxed, grounded sense of physical wellbeing.
Dian Xue
Dian Xue works with fingertip pressure on key points along the meridians. Practised with quiet precision, it aims to promote balance and a settled sense of ease — a needle-free approach within the same classical tradition.
Qigong healing
Qigong healing harmonises breath, intention and gentle movement. Through guided stillness it supports relaxation, softens tension and helps cultivate a clearer awareness of the body.
