TCM + Qi Gong Winter Health Day

TCM + Qi Gong Winter Health Day

This seminar brings our focus to Winter Whole-Body Wellness. Combining TCM theory, Qigong, acupressure, Tuina and Gua Sha, this workshop takes a holistic approach to understanding the body and introduces traditional wellness and self-care practices for winter.

This workshop focuses on traditional TCM wellness knowledge and practical experience and is not intended to replace professional medical diagnosis or treatment.

1. TCM Theory & Traditional Assessment. Learn the fundamental principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, including Yin-Yang, Qi and Blood, meridians, and traditional TCM approaches to assessment.

2. Reflex Areas Related to Muscles, Fascia & Internal Organs. Explore traditional concepts relating the body's muscles, fascia and visceral reflex areas, and understand the connections between different areas of the body.

3. Different Gua Sha Techniques for Wellness. Learn a variety of traditional Gua Sha techniques and practical methods used in external TCM wellness practices, including basic techniques for different areas of the body.

4. Theory Behind Gua Sha. Explore the traditional theory and principles of Gua Sha and its applications in TCM wellness practices. (Please notify Shifu Liu if you have a bleeding disorder or are taking blood thinners.)

5. Partner Practice: Experiencing the Body. Through guided partner practice, participants will practise Gua Sha and related techniques and develop greater awareness of how the body feels before and after the practice.

The focus is not only on theory but also on practical techniques that participants can immediately apply to improve and maintain their own health. Once learned, these methods can be used throughout life for self-care and to support the health of family members.

Please bring a yoga style mat, cushion, or blanket and extra layers if it's cold.
