Chen Tai Chi Summer School: Laojia Yi Lu, Classic Old Frame, seminar with Shifu Liu
August 8, 2015 @ 10:00 am - August 9, 2015 @ 3:30 pm
TJC’s two-part Summer seminar with Shifu Liu will take an in depth look at Loajia Yi Lu, the lyrical classic Old Frame form of Chen style Taijiquan.
Our summer school for Chen style taijiquan will take an in depth look at Laojia Yi Lu, created by Chen Changxing in the 19th C, from the original tai ji sets of Chen Wanting (the originator of Chen style taijiquan in the Ming dynasty). It is the oldest tai ji routine from which all the modern tai ji styles are derived. This form is the ‘keystone’ of the Chen style and considered the most important to practice to gain understanding of the martial content within each movement, and yet practice of the form also stimulates the circulation of energy and has enormous health benefits.
In the two seminars, 8-9 August, Shifu Liu will teach the form with posture and movement correction, covering different aspects and techniques of the form, important for everyone who has an interest in tai chi.
There will be warm-ups and Foundation Chen training to start the day, with lunch and refreshment breaks.
There will be the opportunity to ask questions and have personal posture correction.
Suitable for all levels and those who train in other styles of tai chi.
Tickets close on 8 August, but if you wish to come along to the second day then please email us.
